The Book Village is composed of seven independent bookstores and several other specialty stores, including a country store offering special things for every day, an art gallery, and shops specializing in art, handmade gifts, vintage clothes, records, music books, and locally handmade items.
Located in the Northern Catskill Mountains, the Hobart Book Village, established in
2005, is known as a center for arts and literary culture. Each year the Book Village
hosts the Festival of Women Writers, several art shows, author readings and signings,
and many community-focused events. All of these events make the village a year-
round destination.

Hours: Hours vary from store to store. Most shops follow this schedule:
Memorial Day Weekend thru Columbus Day: Daily 11am – 5 pm
After Columbus Day to Memorial Day: Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 5 pm, and Holiday
Mondays 11-3 pm. Some shops in the Village are open more days than others.
